I still only have mine partially finished.

Way to keep moving even if you didn't quite make it under 12.

I don't want this to sound critical but rather want to give advice. I've finished Leadville 5 times.

Efficiency at aid stations is key. Being stopped over 30 minutes is actually a lot of time. I don't have a computer on my bike but I'm pretty sure I was stopped less than 5 minutes this year. I once did a 400+ mile race on the road and my computer showed I was stopped just over 9 minutes out of over 22 hours. That included adjusting the cleat on my shoe and stopping every 4 hours for asthma inhalers.

The time you spend at aid stations is time you don't make up. Maybe you get a slight bit of rest but I don't think it really makes you faster.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585740.post-48399285524939018852008-08-25T22:00:00.000-07:002008-08-25T22:00:00.000-07:00Reading how your race went has been on my list to ...Reading how your race went has been on my list to do all month! What an accomplishment that you did such a hard event--sounds soooo painful. I'm glad to see you have no regrets for stops you took; you dug deep and worked hard. So cool you got to see Dave and Lance go at it, too! I wasn't able to make it this year, but I truly missed it--thanks for filling me in on some of the details. :) :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the experience!marmaladeinsteadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10179689187866544011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585740.post-30632679130855568792008-08-14T23:34:00.000-07:002008-08-14T23:34:00.000-07:00That was a pretty great write-up, man.
