Fighting Crime One Pint At a Time

Had to post the link to this column before I forgot. It was in yesterday's Seattle Times and is about a Neighborhood Watch group that got sick of watching illicit activity take place outside a local seedy bar and finally decided to go across the street, walk past the drug dealers and prostitutes, and go in and have a beer. Now, months later, they have several dozen folks from the community there every Monday night and, apparently, their mere presence has cleaned up the block and driven the dealers and "working women" elsewhere.
