What are the odds that Mootsapalooza, an annual gathering of Moots owners, would be taking place in the same small New Jersey town that Kristin's parents live in? It's true! A guy by the name of Bill Trego has a 60-acre farm in Far Hills and is inviting all Moots owners to come to his place in Far Hills "along with your girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, bikes and imaginary friends, but no children or pets please" to enjoy a day of road and mountain biking in the Somerset Hills area. When done riding, retire to his farm where his "farm cooks" will cook you up whatever you want -- provided you brought it. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Bill has 5 Moots bikes (would that be Mootses or Mootsie?) and having an idea of what 60 acres in Far Hills could cost, the fact that he has 5 Moots bikes is not surprising.
Unfortunately, this Mootsapalooza event is the same weekend as the Round the Clock 24hours of Spokane race I'm entered in. So, as much as I would like to fly across the country with my new Mooto-X YBB and visit family -- and make some new friends in my new Moots family, we just can't do it. It's tempting, honestly, but not this year. Too much on the plate already.
